Snuba – What?

Snuba – What?

Nov 09, 2013

If you’ve mastered snorkeling but are not sure if you're ready for diving; if you’ve never snorkeled before but want to see the vast and colorful world beneath the surface, Snuba could be your next water adventure. A blend of snorkeling and diving, Snuba allows you a view of the deep that is akin to diving. You wear a mask that covers your eyes and nose and you wear fins, just like you do with snorkeling, but you also wear a regulator as divers do. Your tank sits on a raft floating on the surface and is not strapped to your back. A tube connected from the tank to the regulator gives you access to air.

The biggest difference is where you can go with Snuba. Instead of watching the action, you can now become a part of the action. Instead of trolling the surface, you can dive deeper. You are no long relying on a short tube protruding out of the water to get air. With your regulator, you can go down 10 or 20 feet and see the fish and coral up close. Snuba is the natural progression of snorkeling and a great introduction to diving. Experience weightlessness and see the fish that congregate at lower depths and shy away from the surface. You’ll find there is more to see than you ever imagined.
