Reaching A Milestone.....

December 2012 marked a year since I started my home base travel business with my host agency Montrose Travels. It was has been a long hard road but very rewarding. This is what I love to do helping others plan exciting vacations with their love ones. I love to travel I've been doing it for over 20 years with the military. So once I retired it was a no brainer to go into the travel industry. Starting out I let all my family and friends know about my venture that I was starting out on and to book travel through me. That sounds good hearing the words but with some family that either want something for free or they think you don't know what you're doing. It hurt when they would book their travel elsewhere then say oh I forgot you was doing that. No problem I would say because in the end I don't think I want family as my clients especially the ones that want something for nothing and act like they're doing you a favor by booking cheap air with you.

I had to re-evaluate and find my niche to sell to the world and find my clients. With the help of my host agency I started to find my niche through all the valuable training session I attended. Countless hours are put into the training sessions to be proficient to be able book travel correctly and work with the suppliers.

I set goals for myself and patted myself on the back when I reached one. This is only the beginning of my milestones with many more to come. Just seeing the joy and taking away the stress from my clients face makes this job rewarding. As I continue to grow so will my business with a blissful year!
